I found out today that I am leaving to go to Israel in 6 days! I am going on a 10 day trip to the Promise Land! This trip is a part of the Birthright Israel program, in which young Jewish adults can visit Israel and all they have to pay for is the airfare to a gateway city (LA for me). I applied, for the second time, in February and never got a confirmation until today. They had offered the spot to someone else, and that person cancelled, so they called me today to offer the space to me! Crazy thing is...I leave next Tuesday! I will actually be leaving Colorado Springs on Monday, and flying out of LAX on Tuesday to Israel. So I have spent most of the day today making very last minute travel plans and trying to get all my ducks in a row before I leave on Monday. I am so incredibly excited to have this opportunity and I can't wait to learn more about my culture! I will try to blog as often as possible, but I don't know what the Internet will be like over there. I get back to the States on June 13, so check back around that time for updates.
Here is a sneak peak of our Itinerary: rafting on the Jordan river, camping in a Bedouin tent, camel riding, cruising on the Sea of Galilee, floating in the Dead Sea, and so much more! I just can't wait! Will keep you posted!
